Well, the blisters kicked in. I did have a lovely photo, however it, along with many other photos are hidden away on a recently smashed Samsung.
As I hobbled back home the other morning it gave me time to reflect on the times when life doesn't necessarily go your way. In many respects the Ronald McDonald House is there for just such occasions. I have been a supporter of RMH since I lived in Kalgoorlie and saw first hand the benefits that having such a facility provides for those who need it.
All the best for your fundraising efforts!
First training walk today, 4.25km around Lake Monger, beautiful weather and a great start to prepping for the big walk in 15 weeks time. My plan is to keep up short daily walks and every few weeks go for a longer >15km walk to get into the zone. Challenges? Making enough time to fit in walks, staying motivated when the blisters and chafing kicks in, and not getting injured!
All the best to everyone else out there who is participating!
I'll be Up All Night for sick kids
Gday! I’m taking part in Up All Night to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia (RMHCWA). Walking in an overnight marathon isn’t going to be easy, (especially for a big fella like me!) but it’s nothing compared to being the parent of a sick child.
Every day families from across WA come to Perth so that their child can receive emergency medical treatment. Ronald McDonald House is their Home Away From Home during the most difficult time of their lives.
I’m stepping up to show the families at Ronald McDonald House that they aren’t alone.
