We're fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia

We are not telling you our story for sympathy, but to hopefully allow you to understand how much this charity means to Adam, Elyssa & myself, and all the other families who have been in our position.
It still is a very tough subject for us to talk about, but I will give you a brief run through the birth of Elyssa and our time at the Ronald McDonald House.
Immediately after birth, Elyssa was taken from my C-Section straight to PCH. Elyssa was not able to breath as her nose was completed closed with bone. No kiss, cuddle or touch for us was allowed. Adam followed her in the ambulance straight over to the children’s hospital and I arrived 2 days later. I didn’t meet my baby for 2 whole days. From that day onwards we stayed at the hospital in the Ronald McDonald house which provided us with a room, meals and support. We would take it in turns to sit with Elyssa at her bedside, every second of every day. Elyssa went on to have 10 surgeries for her nose and we spent 3 months in and out of the hospital.
We will be walking a marathon over the night of March 6 2021 to support the families in the hospital who too will be awake with us. It isn't going to be easy, but it's nothing compared to being the parent of a sick child.
