I'm staying Up All Night for WA families with sick kids

This year marks my third year signing up for the Up All Night Walk in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities. ✨🚶‍♂️

Last year, I walked alone along Mounts Bay Road in Perth. It was quiet and I couldn’t see the end - not knowing where the next pit stop would be. That stretch of road brought back vivid memories of another road in Hong Kong, during a very different chapter of my life.

Many of you may not know that I worked remotely from Hong Kong for six months to care for my mum (thank you to MKT for the understanding and flexibility). After visiting hours each night, I would walk to the nearest underground station. That short journey felt like an emotional roller coaster - filled with uncertainty, never knowing what tomorrow would bring and holding hope and fear at the same time.

Families staying at Ronald McDonald House live in a similar space of uncertainty. When your child is seriously ill, life narrows to hospital corridors, medical updates and long nights.

Ronald McDonald House cannot remove the pain or the fear. But it provides something critically important: a safe and comfortable place close to the hospital - somewhere families can stay together, rest, and focus on loving and supporting their child. They never have to walk alone. 💪💪💪

It doesn’t take all the pressure away but it helps ease part of the weight on their shoulders.
